Comprehensive Sex Therapy & Intimacy Training Program

A structured educational pathway for licensed mental health professionals pursuing advanced training in sex therapy.

Program structure: 90 hours of Core Knowledge Areas and 60 hours of Sex Therapy Training Content Areas.

Synchronous requirements: At least 15 Core Knowledge hours and 30 Sex Therapy Training hours must be completed live/synchronously.

About the Program

This comprehensive program is designed for licensed mental health professionals seeking advanced specialization in sex therapy. The curriculum addresses human sexuality, assessment, treatment, ethics, cultural responsiveness, medical and relational factors, research, and evidence-informed clinical interventions. Participants learn from experienced faculty and gain practical skills for work with individuals and couples presenting with sexual concerns, intimacy challenges, and relationship difficulties.

Why Enroll?

Sexual concerns are common but are often under-addressed in psychotherapy. This program helps clinicians strengthen their knowledge, confidence, assessment skills, and intervention options while working toward the educational component of AASECT Sex Therapist certification.

Certification notice: Completion of this program does not by itself confer AASECT certification. Participants are responsible for confirming and completing all current AASECT education, supervision, clinical experience, SAR, and application requirements.

60 Hours: Sex Therapy Training Content Areas

At least 30 hours must be completed live/synchronously.

AASECT requires therapists without documented graduate or postgraduate training in couples counseling to complete 16 hours of couples counseling training within the 60 Sex Therapy Training hours.
